Romania's international dialing code is +40. A landline phone number always starts with 02 or 03, while a mobile phone number always starts with 07.

You can use your mobile phone in Romania, provided that roaming is activated. Otherwise, you can purchase prepaid cards in Romania (Vodafone, Orange, Telekom), as long as your phone is not locked to another network.

It's worth noting that there are no more public phone booths in Romania.

The national emergency number (police, ambulance, fire department) is 112.

Hotels and most restaurants and cafés have wireless internet access.

As in the rest of Europe, the electric current is 220V/50Hz, and the outlets are type F (Schuko), compatible with type C (Europlug) outlets.
