Whether you travel as a family, a couple or with friends, our circuits adapt to your pace, your desires for nature, culture or heritage. How to Choose Your Trip in Romania?
Romania lends itself to several trip formats depending on the time you have available. A first journey of 8 to 12 days allows you to combine Transylvania and Maramureș, with a stop in the Carpathians for hiking or bear watching. If you have 13 to 17 days, we add Bucovina and its painted monasteries, or even the Danube Delta for bird-watching enthusiasts. The distances between regions mean an average of four to six hours on the road, and we always schedule routes to avoid exhausting transitions.
Different Types of Trips
Our cultural itineraries focus on the seven UNESCO Saxon citadels, the frescoes of Voroneț and Sucevița, and the wooden churches of Maramureș, with meetings with craftspeople and monastic communities. Our adventure trips include hiking in the Făgăraș and Piatra Craiului massifs, brown bear observation at forest edges, and crossings of the Transfăgărășan or Transalpina routes. Family journeys combine castles (Bran, Peleș, Corvin), cycling through Saxon villages, days at family-run guesthouses with farm activities and mountain lake swimming.
What's the Best Season?
May-June and September remain our preferred seasons: temperatures between 18 and 25 °C, flowering meadows in spring, golden light and autumn colors in September, mountain roads open. July and August are suitable for high-altitude hiking but Bucharest often exceeds 32 °C. Winter, from December to March, reveals another Romania: skiing at Poiana Brașov, Christmas markets in Sibiu and Brașov, snow-covered monasteries in Bucovina. The Danube Delta is best visited in May-June for pelican nesting.
